SFN August: Holding Democracy - with Susan Benedyka

The 2022 federal election will be remembered for electing the largest number of independent candidates. How did they mobilise thousands of volunteers, many who had never been involved in a political campaign before? What are the facilitation principles holding the groundswell of community support steady over three federal elections? And should we start considering how to hold the space in the centre open at the next federal election to continue to challenge the two party system which isn’t serving Australia well?

Join Susan Benedyka, independent Senate candidate for Victoria, Indi campaign member for Cathy McGowan + Helen Haines with Sandy Killick, Lead Educator, Democracy Matters in a discussion about facilitation practices for democratic participation.
