The Human Sound Project is a new platform for “crowd-sourced song making”. Through combining innovative recording technology with ground-breaking facilitation methods, The Human Sound Project enables groups of people ("musicians" and "non-musicians") to come together, share their stories and through lively interactive workshops, transform their stories into powerful new songs. The process of creating songs out of a group’s stories is as healing and unifying for participants, as it is fun.
Come along and join with Simon Jankelson of The Human Sound Project as we access some of the worldʼs most important unheard music – created by none other than you and your fellow humans! Project Flyer pdf
About Simon Jankelson
Simon Jankelson (B.A., Masters of Interactive Media) has been creating music in groups since age thirteen when he used the entire schoolʼs input to write the lyrics for his schoolʼs song.
Simon later became a facilitator for large-scale interactive drumming workshops for Australiaʼs “Drumbeats”, where he helped facilitate groups (10s- 1000s), of people in live African drumming.
Simonʼs skills in transforming stories into music were also honed through his time with Playback Theatre, Sydney, where he spontaneously created the music as actors re-enacted stories told by a live audience.
It was these experiences and more that helped crystallize Simonʼs vision for The Human Sound Project and have helped him to become a musical facilitator on the world stage.
